Glasgow’s SWG3 has been ranked as Scotland’s most active music venue.

A new study conducted by Protectivity has revealed the top 20 ‘most active’ music venues in the UK with Glasgow’s SWG3 taking the top spot in Scotland.

Ranking 9th in the UK, the report has shown SWG3 has a total of 131 scheduled events across the next two years, with the only other Scottish venue featuring in the top 20 Glasgow Ovo Hydro with 81 events.

The study used Ticketmaster data to analyse how many events are being held at each UK music venue over the next two years to find which are the ‘most active’. The data extracted concerts or festivals with multiple tickets and those that gave no unique artists to collect and compare the data.

Through the research, Club Shoreditch ranked as the most active music venue in the UK, with approximately 442 events in total over the next two years.

The news for SWG3 comes alongside the venue’s recent successful hotel bid which has been recommended to be given the go-ahead by Glasgow Council planners.
