Honeybadger | 5 tracks that influenced ‘Self Titled’

Honeybadger have released their debut EP ‘Self Titled’.

Speaking of the EP, frontman Eddy Widdows said: “This EP is the biggest project we’ve been part of as a band, and we couldn’t be prouder of the music we’ve made. It’s about friendship, relationships, and the bullshit we all deal with, packed into five tracks that’ll knock your socks off!”

To celebrate their EP release, Honeybadger shared with us 5 tracks that influenced ‘Self Titled’.

Them Crooked Vultures – Bandoliers
This is one of my favourite songs from probably my favourite album of all time. It’s just a beautiful song over dirty guitars and amazing drumming. I just love the way the song progresses and we’ve tried to emulate elements of that progression in a couple the tunes off our EP.

Frank Carter And The Rattlesnakes – Fangs
This song is just a full on banger from start to finish just played with so much energy. Although its a bit heavier than what we play the energy of what sounds like just a few people in one room just smashing it out is just so contagious!

Demob Happy – Junk DNA
This is just such a well written song, massive riffs, great vocals and amazing harmonies. They way its put together as well is just brilliant! This tune has been an underlying inspiration for most tunes we write.

Bad Nerves – Don’t Stop
Another short but powerful banger! Just 1:46 but it doesn’t miss anything powerful melodic vocals over really driven guitars and the most break-neck paced drumming, what’s not to love?

Drenge – Bloodsports
Another one that’s short and sweet. So raw and bare but it doesn’t hold back! Drenge have been a massive influence since way back when we were a two piece. Just guitar, drums, vocals no trimmings making beautiful noise!
