Interview | Milestones

It’s been quite the month for Milestones.

Releasing their debut album ‘Red Lights’ via Fearless Records on February 23rd, the band announced a headline UK tour in support of the release before being confirmed for this year’s Slam Dunk Festival.

Before they hit the road for their headline March tour in celebration of the album, we caught up with the band to find out more about their recent release and forthcoming tour.

For those who have yet to discover your music, how would you describe the ‘Milestones sound’?

Old pop punk with a modern twist!

Your new album is out now, is there an overarching theme for the release?

The theme of ‘Red Lights’ is to push yourself as a person. Life can throw just about anything at you and it’s all about pushing through and not allowing anything to stop you. Use your demons to your strength and make a better version of yourself using the pain you’ve experienced.

How did you go about the process of selecting which tracks would make the final 11?

It was a very tough process in the end, we had SO MANY demos but ultimately it came down to what we felt represented this band the best. We knew what sort of vibes we wanted this record to give off so it was down to just accurately picking those songs!

Aside from the previously heard singles, which track are you most excited for people to hear?

Against The World‘ definitely. It’s a song I’ve been very excited about since we recorded it and I hope fans can really connect with it!

Can you describe your album using an acrostic of your name?
M ilestones
A lbum
R ips
K no da

You’re set to tour the album in March, are there any particular shows you’re looking forward to the most?

All of them to be honest! It’s been absolute months since we’ve played any shows so we’re ridiculously excited to get back to playing!

What can those heading to the tour expect from your set?

Lots of energy and spins and stomps. Same as always!

What do we have to look forward to from you guys across the summer?

More touring I’d like to think! We wanna be playing this record absolutely everywhere so keep your eyes peeled for that!

Anything else you wish to add?

Thank you to anybody who has checked out this album so far and given us a chance, it means the world! If you haven’t, listen to it and let us know what you think!
