John and Edward Grimes famous for their X-Factor appearance have won the right to represent Ireland at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.

Last night seen the duo win the public vote to represent Ireland this year at the contest in Germany this May.

Jedward beat of competition from another 4 contestants last night with their new track ‘Lipstick’.

The twins exclaimed their excitement on winning the chance to represent their country;

“We are so happy to have been chosen to represent Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest. It’s the most amazing honour and we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who voted for the song tonight.

We’d also like to thank our mentor Caroline Downey-Desmond for all her support and the song writers for writing such an amazing song that we are really looking forward to performing in Düsseldorf in May.”
