Katie Kittermaster | 5 tracks that influenced ‘T-Shirt’

Katie Kittermaster recently released her new single ‘T-Shirt’.

Currently supporting Lucy Spraggan on her UK tour, the singer-songwriter recently released her new EP ‘Coming Home At Dawn’ following her summer festival packed schedule.

Featuring as the lead track on her EP, Katie explained track ‘T-Shirt’ was a song that came to her quicky with “most of the lyrics and structure within 20 minutes”.

To delve further into the single release, Katie shared with us five tracks that influenced ‘T-Shirt’.

Ed Sheeran – Photograph | Listen
I think all of Ed’s music has in some way inspired my writing. ‘Photograph’ especially as it has the idea of a physical object that in some way represents the relationship, it is also a guitar-based track.

Gabrielle Aplin – Miss You | Listen
I love this track. The production is very different but the idea of the song, missing someone, wondering what they’re doing now; “what you been doing” – Aplin and “maybe you think of me” in ‘T-Shirt’. Her lyrics are very real and to the point.

Mahalia- I Remember | Listen
A simple production of mainly voice and guitar so the lyrics stand out. A song about reminiscing of the good times in the relationship.

Kodaline – All I Want | Listen
A heartbreaking song of wanting someone to come back. Similar production elements are including. It is again left quite similar to show off the voice.

James Arthur – Say You Won’t Let Go | Listen
This song’s production was used as inspiration when making T-shirt, the chilled rhythm and guitar-based backing to the voice.
