Liimo have released their new single ‘All I Do’ via B-Unique Records.
An alt-pop treat delivered in true Liimo style, the single follows the trio’s previous single and LMLL TOTD ‘Thinking About It’.
Speaking of the new Liimo’s frontman Kieran O’Brien said: “’All I Do’ is about being overcome with emotion, exploring that fine line between desire and obsession.”
To celebrate their new single release, we caught up with Liimo to uncover 5 tracks that influenced ‘All I Do’.
Foy Vance – She Burns | Listen via Spotify
This song is so heartbreakingly raw in all its emotion that it ended up being the main inspiration behind ‘All I Do’. It’s all about that fine line between infatuation and obsession. The way the lyrics develop is so captivating and how visceral they feel at their source really resonated with us.
LUME – Edge Of My Seat | Listen via Spotify
The production on this one is what inspired some of the ideas for ‘All I Do’. Sonically, we think this track is spot on. We love the chilled vibe and the almost hypnotic groove throughout. It’s just the perfect example of how minimal production done well can have maximum effect. Every little element you hear in this song has its purpose.
Bonnie Raitt – I Can’t Make You Love Me | Listen via Spotify
This was the heartbreak anthem growing up for us – the classic unrequited love narrative that never really gets old. I feel like we’re always trying to catch a bit of the magic of this song whenever we lower the tempo of an idea and enter ballad territory.
Oh Wonder – Technicolour Beat | Listen via Spotify
Every time we listen to this song it feels like midnight no matter what time it is. With ‘All I Do’ we wanted to create a mood and scene that really puts you in the place and moment of the track. Oh Wonder do it perfectly here.
LANY – I Don’t Want to Love You Anymore | Listen via Spotify
Writing heartbreak pop songs isn’t easy. Lyrically, you have so few words to get the emotion across in a way that can also connect to the listener’s experience of heartache too. LANY are awesome at doing this, and ‘I Don’t Wanna Love You Anymore’ is a prime example. It’s so conversational in its lyrical style that it almost feels like you’re there in the room while the singer is telling you all the things he’s going through.
