Lloyd P-White has released his debut EP ‘Rockstar’.
The 6-track concept EP explores the ‘darker’ side of love and romance through a kaleidoscopic blend of genres, exploring Llyod’s personal trials and tribulations.
Speaking of the EP, Lloyd said: “I’ve been told it’s hard to put my music in a box, which is exactly the same for me as a person. Growing up in Basel, Switzerland (border city to Germany and France) and later living in London, I’ve grown up and always been in a multicultural environment. My environment is a melting pot of cultures and so is my music.”
To celebrate the debut EP release, Lloyd shared with us five tracks that influenced ‘Rockstar’.
Blink-182 – All The Small Things | Listen via Spotify
With the ‘Rockstar’ EP being a fusion of hip-hop and pop-punk, the pop-punk bands of the early 2000’s have to be up there as one of the biggest influences of this project.
SAINt JHN – Trap | Listen via Spotify
Just a great example that the term “Rockstar” isn’t genre related, it’s an aura and lifestyle.
Xxxtentacion – Jocelyn Flores | Listen via Spotify
Feeling the raw emotion and honesty in X’s music is something that inspired me to not hold back with pouring my emotions into music.
The 1975 – Robbers | Listen via Spotify
I could be anywhere, but listening to The 1975 just takes me to a certain place. I try to create that with my music. I want people to escape reality by listening to my music, even if it’s only for a few minutes.
Machine Gun Kelly, Yungblud, Travis Barker – I think I’m OKAY | Listen via Spotify
Obviously there’s the OG Travis Barker but what MGK and Yungblud have done for this new pop-punk wave with their music is incredible. Definitely big influences.
