McFly reveal full Super City details

McFly have revealed more details of their upcoming project Super City.

On speaking with The Guardian in an in-depth interview, McFly revealed what caused them to go ‘off-radar’ for a period and come back with a vengeance with new single ‘Party Girl’, not forgetting their new image and their upcoming album which is due for release in November.

After the success of the bands Radio:Active Tour, a successful tour over seas and a brand new direction in their musical style, it managed to convince Universal to ask them to rejoin the label.

The band only agreed to do so on a 50/50 share basis and due to the outcome of this, Universal have allowed the band to offer all their music directly through their new Super City venture by paying via subscription.

The Guardian explains the full run-down of Super City;

“When it launches, Super City, McFly’s new web presence, will give fans unprecedented access to the band. The most active fans earn points that can lead to webchats and phonecalls; there are also video guitar lessons, the band’s entire back catalogue, and social networks that aim to create a community tied directly to McFly.”

As eager as McFly fans have been, finally the cost of Super City has been revealed!

It is going to cost £6 a month or £40 for the year. The first 10,000 fans who sign up to the subscription gain “pioneer” status which will apparently allow them even more goodies on top of the rest.

Tom Fletcher explained;

“It’s cheaper than an album, and our fans spend so much money on us that we wanted to find a way to give them more access”.

The band are unsure how many fans will actually sign up to the site, but Tom Fletcher has hinted he may even put demos of new singles on the site before he even allows his own bandmates to hear them, therefore giving the fans the full power of choosing singles and live sets directly.

The band promise to be ‘completely open’ in Super City and with their new album due for release this November, it seems it won’t be long before Super City opens it’s doors!
