Mesa Luna have revealed their new single released ‘Ruins’.
The Vancouver-based electronic pop duo have revealed their new single ahead of the release of their debut EP ‘Crux’.
The EP was recorded in various places from cafe basements to an empty bank vault and will be released in autumn via nbd label.
Speaking of their new single release, Mesa Luna said: “Ruins expresses the frustration of having a communication breakdown with someone you love or once loved.
“It’s that constant back and forth that circles around and around late into the night with no resolution.
“Exhaustion is apparent in the verses that leads up to the self-realizing line “why do I keep hanging on”… – the answer to that I don’t fully understand but it makes me think of the alluring nature of degraded places of another time.
“It’s easy to romanticize ruins and want to preserve them, whether it’s degenerating architecture or a failed relationship.”
