As part of Independent Venue Week 2020, Edinburgh’s Girls’ Rock School song-writing circle have announced FemmeFest.
A full-day of female-identifying musicians playing original music at Leith Depot on Sunday 2nd February.
The full-day gig will see members of the circle across all genres showcasing their original tracks.
The songwriting circle branched off from Girl’s Rock School Edinburgh, a not for profit organisation encouraging women to make music, and was formed after attendees of Lou McLean’s song-writing workshop decided to meet once a month to encourage their song-writing practice, creating a community for acoustic artists who drew inspiration from the 90’s riot grrrl punk movement.
The FemmeFest line-up includes Lou McLean herself, alongside Dark Hearts, Lorraine Rahamani, Molly Wyrd, Vee Ruins, Beth Myers, Ashley Stein and Lilla.
Tickets for FemmeFest are priced at £10, with the gig running from 2.30pm – 10pm.
