NEHH top five gigs | Edinburgh Fringe 2016

From folk to funk, Summerhall will host more than 20 gigs during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe

Taking place in the intimate surroundings of the Dissection Room, if you’re looking for a gig during the festival, we’ve picked our top four acts to catch during Nothing Ever Happens Here (NEHH).

Kathryn Joseph & The Anchoress | August 6th
Tickets: £15

Winner of the Scottish Album of the Year, Kathryn Joseph will bring her unique soulful sound to Summerhall for one night only. Support will come from multi-instrumentalist The Anchoress who will celebrate the release of her debut album ‘Confessions of a Romance Novelist’.

Rachel Sermanni & Matt Norris and The Moon | August 10th
Tickets: £14

Despite only releasing her debut studio album in July 2015, Rachel Sermanni has been charming Scotland with her enchanting tracks for six years. Her Summerhall slot will follow her Belladrum Festival appearance with support from fellow folkers Matt Norris and the Moon.

White & Bossy Love | August 13th
Tickets: £12

Fresh from recent festival appearances including Y not and Latitude, get ready to groove as White will bring the funk rock party to Summerhall. With their infectious beats and glistening guitars set for the stage, support act Bossy Love will warm things up with her tropical R ‘n’ B pop.

Suuns | August 21st
Tickets: £12

Montreal experimental rockers Suuns will celebrate the release of their recent third studio album ‘Hold/Still’ with their only Scottish headline date this summer.

Withered Hand and Chris T-T | August 27th
Tickets: £14

With his clever and engaging lyrics set for sing-a-longs, folk rocker Withered Hand (aka Dan Wilson) has conquered the capital’s music scene over the last seven years. Joining him on the night is fellow folk musician Chris T-T ahead of his packed summer festival schedule and November UK tour.
