Edinburgh music fans can rejoice with the arrival of the weEH6 festival which launches in Leith on May 25th, breathing new life into the city’s music scene.
Brother to last year’s Krafty Brew EH6 festival, weEH6 takes place across four venues including the Old Doctor Bell Baths on Junction Street.
Friday’s headliner is Tom Clarke who led indie band The Enemy to success with debut album ‘We’ll Live And Die In These Towns‘ and their heady mix of anthemic tunes and gutsy songwriting. He’ll be performing the album alongside some new solo material.
Other headliners include blues/rock band Black Cat Bone, prolific live performers with a pounding rhythm section, and Miracle Glass Company who are undeniably influenced by 60’s rock ‘n’ roll and a touch of the psychedelic, with blinding harmonies and catchy melodies.
Other acts include songwriter/singer Aaron Wright, blues-inspired Luke La Volpe, Wolves, and folk and roots artist Billy Mitchell, former frontman of folk-rock band Lindisfarne.
As well as some well-kent faces there’s plenty room for up and coming artists to share the stage with seasoned musicians. The festival will welcome Glasgow based powerhouse Carly Connor, who has supported Paulo Nutini, Alabama Shakes and The View, and alternative/indie band Two Tone Television who are also ones to watch!
For something with a bit more bite, alt-rockers Pyro will also grace the stage over the weekend – a must for fans of Royal Blood, Slaves and plenty of attitude!
Also hosting weEH6 are favourite Leith haunts, Woodland Creatures and The Constitution as well as the newly opened Old Dr Bell Baths, an old Victorian swimming pool which has been transformed into Edinburgh’s latest gig venue.
On top of the music, there will also be plenty of beer and food to enjoy from various local businesses including small-batch brewery Krafty Brew.
Tickets start at £10 for a Saturday day ticket and can be bought over on Skiddle – snap them up fast as there are only a small amount of tickets for sale!
