Slam Dunk Festival 2024 | 5 must-see artists

Slam Dunk Festival returns to Leeds Temple Newsam on Sunday 26th May.

With five stages featuring over 45 acts, whether you’re into pop-punk, rock, emo or alternative, the festival year-in-year-out manages to celebrate the scene with a packed line-up of new and nostalgia.

This year, Love Music; Love Life are heading along to Leeds to check out this year’s Slam Dunk Festival as it returns to its new home at Temple Newsam.

Ahead of the festival, we’ve picked our top 5 must-see artists at Slam Dunk Festival Leeds 2024.

State Champs
State Champs are no strangers to the festival stage and will return to Slam Dunk to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the band’s acclaimed debut studio album ‘The Finer Things’. Performing the release in full, the band will celebrate the release that catapulted them to fame and sees the band still performing sold out shows a decade following its release.
Expect singalongs a plenty and nostalgia in the air as State Champs perform on the Slam Dunk stage at 17:00.

Pale Waves
Pale Waves will take to the Kerrang! Stage as their final UK shows ahead of their American tour with PVRIS. Always festival pleasers with their feel-good glistening tracks, the band will treat fans to a selection of their hits ranging from their three albums which have seen them become a festival favourite since 2018.
Enjoy an empowering dance along to Pale Waves at 17:30 on the Kerrang! stage.

Boys Like Girls
It’s been almost 20 years since Boys Like Girls formed back in 2005. Following line-up changes, a short hiatus and COVID delaying the band’s return to the music scene, in 2023 they emerged with their fourth studio album ‘Sunday at Foxwoods’. Presenting a new 80’s influence to their pop-rock sound, it’s seen the group go non-stop with a packed summer schedule including tours with Greyscale and Dashboard Confessional across the US.

The Blackout
When The Blackout announced their return to the live scene last year, tickets flew out the door as fans eagerly awaited to catch the band live eight years following their split. They are set to perform ‘The Best In Town’ in its entirety, 15 years after its release, featuring undeniably addictive singles including ‘Children of the Night’, ‘This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things’ and ‘Save Our Selves (The Warning)’, be prepared to relive the singles that soundtracked arguably our emo teenage era.
Embrace mosh pits and singalongs a plenty on the Go Pro Stage at 15:25.

You Me At Six
Headlining this year’s festival, You Me At Six will perform their final ever UK festival headline slot at Slam Dunk North. Announcing their split early this year, the band are embracing every last moment as they celebrate their 20 years as band. Returning to Slam Dunk for their final UK performance, the night will see the band go full-circle reflecting on their mammoth career to-date, with the fans in tow who made it so successful.
