SSE Scottish Music Awards 2018 ceremony details unveiled

The initial details for this year’s SSE Scottish Music Awards have been unveiled.

Taking place on Saturday 1st December at the SEC, this year’s ceremony marks the award’s 20th birthday bash with a host of surprises and special guests planned.
The first performers for this year’s ceremony have also been confirmed as Snow Patrol and Tom Grennan.

Previous award winners have included the likes of Paolo Nutini, Emeli Sande and Deacon Blue as the ceremony celebrates not only Scottish music, but artists who have been the soundtrack of the nation for the past twenty years.

The SSE Scottish Music Awards have been the main fundraising event for music therapy charity Nordoff Robbins Scotland since 1996, with funds raised on the night are a vital part of the charity’s ability to provide music therapists and sessions to those who need it most.

Speaking of the night, head of sponsorship and reward for SSE Colin Banks said: “We’re extremely proud to support Nordoff Robbins Scotland and look forward to a very special 20th edition of the SSE Scottish Music Awards. The event has become a landmark in the Scottish music calendar and every year proves instrumental in sustaining the vital work of the charity and its life-changing therapists.”

Tickets for the SSE Scottish Music Awards 2018 are on sale now via nrscot.org.uk.
