The Charlatans postpone US Tour

The Charlatans US tour was postponed last night, following the collapse of drummer Jon Brookes during a gig at Philadelphia’s Johnny Brenda’s on Wednesday night.

As we announced previously;

“Early into the set Brookes suddenly collapsed and stopped breathing. Fortunately there was a doctor in the audience who administered first aid and got the drummer breathing again before the paramedics arrived minutes later. Brookes was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Philadelphia and during the night was given a CAT scan and has been responding well to treatment.”

Brookes is now being flown back to the UK for further treatment, although currently in a comfortable condition, and the band promise to keep everyone informed as and when the situation develops.

The Charlatans are very upset at not being able to continue the tour, but hope to reschedule the dates as soon as possible.

Fans are advised to check the website for details about new dates at www.thecharlatans.net.
