Track of the Day | BAILEY | The Future

BAILEY has unveiled his debut single ‘The Future’.

The release comes ahead of his appearance at Bury Fringe All-Dayer (May 5th) and London’s The Spice of Life in Soho (May 12th).

Speaking of the single, BAILEY said: “When I wrote this song, I was in a long distance relationship (we’re talking continents apart!) and in essence, I’m trying to talk about that, and the idea of doing what you can with what you’ve got, planning for the future but living in the moment, and even when the odds are stacked against you: stay positive. People had tried to come in between us and often question the validity of the relationship, but at that time it’s what we both wanted, and so we would just rise above it. It is slightly ironic now though as me and her are no longer together, but the song is so special to me still. It’s a celebration of life and freedom, and the choice I’ve made to take control of my own happiness.”

‘The Future’ flows with relatable lyrics, not only for those who’ve experienced long distance love. Capturing emotion with lyrics that can apply to various aspects of life soundtracked to his upbeat folk-pop sound, the track builds to a toe-tapping rousing chorus.
