Declan Welsh & The Decadent West have released their new single ‘I Don’t Know Why’.

The track is the latest single from the band’s second album ‘2’, set for release September 22nd via Frictionless Music.

Speaking of the album, frontman Declan said: “It’s a story from different characters’ perspectives – about how we cope with things ending. What we reach for. And how there’s such a massive amount of life that’s impossible to know, sometimes the only response is to walk into the unknown and embrace it”.

‘I Don’t Know Why’ showcases a new side to the band’s sound with emotional depth. The bass-driven post-punk track takes on the perspective of a girl struggling with a relationship that has lost its spark, with the added complication of religion not providing any solace, creating an almost haunting single with an ethereal soundscape.
