Dubinski have released their new single ‘Homesick’.
Produced by Grammy Award winners Mike Horner and Robbie Nelson, the track was written on the band’s recent tours in Germany.
The new single comes ahead of the band’s headline hometown show at Edinburgh’s Mash House on Saturday 23rd November.
Speaking of the single, the band said: “This song is written about our first-hand experiences in towns and cities across Germany. While missing our warm beds and loved ones back in the UK, this homesick feeling was short-lived, as the constant stimulus and buzz of new people and places fed the drive to continue onward. The lyrics are very literal with things we saw and experienced on this tour, like the song’s opening line ‘they were throwing darts at Putin’. We literally stumbled into someone on the street charging passers-by to throw darts at a picture of Putin. Gazing out of the sprinter van windows near Düsseldorf inspired ‘like the sheep they were all grazing on the banks of the River Rhine’. We wanted to capture the memories as we lived them, so we stayed up half the night after a particularly bouncing gig to write the song in real-time as we were living the moment.”
Utilising their experiences and emotions as a catalyst for writing, ‘Homesick’ is an upbeat indie anthem that’ll leave you bopping along within one listen to its alt-rock and punk influences.
