Track of the Day | Egyptian Blue – Salt

Egyptian Blue have released their new single ‘Salt’.

Produced by Theo Verney, the track is the first taster of the band’s debut album, due out in 2022.

The band are also set to return to Scotland this November to perform as part of Stag & Dagger Festival in Glasgow and Edinburgh on November 13-14th.

Speaking of the single, singer Andy Buss said: “The song came from a series of anxiety dreams containing monotonous behaviours that felt like walls closing in. That sense of chasing my own tail. Jumping into the dark pit of the pandemic only served to heighten this: I’d been reading this book called ‘On Solitude’ by Michel De Montaigne and we’d been discussing it on a slow ferry to Dublin. When I wrote ‘Salt’, seeing the world as a feverish dream, the book resonated with my sense that we can cover-up emotions and nervous energy with a veil of pretending to be ok.”

‘Salt’ is an intensely raucous release with endless energy. Led by driving guitars and gritty vocals, it’s a firey anthem release.
