Track of the Day | LAULIA – 13/7

LAULIA have released the music video for new track ’13/7′.

The song is taken from their new double-A sided single ’13/7′ and ‘Outcast Kids‘, which was released on October 18th via Rose Coloured Records.

Speaking of the single, frontwoman Lauren Holmes said: “We often feel it’s our job to take care of the people we love, we may even feel we owe it to them for everything they have done for us. But at times, we have to accept that their self-destructive, co-dependent behaviours can begin to take a toll on our lives. This is often quite difficult to see; it’s so easy to be lead down the road with someone, and it’s so difficult to ‘snap out of it’ so to speak. Sometimes it comes down to the choice of loving yourself or loving someone else, and ultimately, we must accept that we can’t help those who don’t want to be helped.”

The new video release comes ahead of the band’s forthcoming live dates at Reading’s Purple Turtle (13th November) and Brighton’s The Brunswick (27th November).

Unveiling a grungier side to the band, ’13/7′ wastes no time tackling a topic that has undoubtedly affected every listener in one way. LAULIA’s new single harks back to the 2000’s alt-rock sound with a guitar and bass amalgamation that feels familiar, creating a comfortable listen, yet the band managed to maintain a raw edge that makes the release feel as though it’s fresh from the studio straight to your ears.
