Maya Malkin has released her new single ‘Hostage’.

The new track from the Montreal singer-songwriter marks the launch of her solo project, following time in band Motel Raphael.

Speaking of her new single, Maya said: “I definitely knew that the subject matter wasn’t the lightest, but I also knew I wanted the song to be danceable. Most of my favourite moments are memories of me and my girlfriends jumping on couches screaming our lungs out to our favourite female-icons’ anthems. I hope this tune can be some version of that for the female-identifying humans out there who can relate to the sentiment in some way. That would make me so happy.”

A glistening indie-pop treat, ‘Hostage’ is an instant earworm. Maya’s vocals are enticing, the beat is bop along ready and the lyrics set for singing out loud.
