Track of the Day | Melancholy Ray – New Routine

Melancholy Ray have released their new single ‘New Routine’.

The single was recorded in a series of bedroom home studio setups around Leeds with Dan Clifford-Smith (Eades, Vraell).

Speaking of the new single, the band said: “‘New Routine’ is a coming of age song about meeting someone significant in young adulthood, whilst wrestling with the good and bad sides of what it all means. Whilst the instrumentation in the track is upbeat and bouncing the lyrics attempt to make sense of the change and infatuation that vocalist and writer Callum (Fewell) was going through.”

A feel-good track led by jangly guitars, ‘New Routine’ is a sunkissed pop-infused indie rock release that instantly gets you moving. Perfectly aligned with the song’s subject, it’s a carefree single that sounds set to soundtrack summer roadtrips.
