Track of the Day | OUTLYA – White Light

OUTLYA - Love Music; Love Life

OUTLYA have released their new single ‘White Light’.

Out now via Closer Recordings via Virgin EMI, the single was written by frontman Will Bloomfield, alongside Jim Irvin and Max Mcelligott (Max Wolfgang) and produced by Dan Grech-Marguerat (Liam Gallagher, The Vaccines, Tom Grennan).

The new single comes amidst the band’s current UK headline tour which includes shows at London’s Omera (21st March) and Bristol’s Louisiana (23rd March).

Speaking of the single, Will explained: “’White Light’ is a song about pushing through the darker days that we all find ourselves in sometimes. Whether it’s faith, love, determination, everyone has a “white light” that offers up some illumination or hope in times of trouble. We wanted to take that sentiment and make a physical version of that would make you want to dance. Dancing is this really instinctive raw human expression of emotion and we tried to encapsulate that.

We took the song to the studio and Dan helped us chisel our initial demos into something altogether more energetic and poppier. We had a load of ideas from these initial recordings – this house piano, group gospel vocals, distorted guitars and weird samples and we mixed all together into the final song.

With its disco infused indie pop sound, ‘White Light’ flows with catchy hooks to get you grooving.
