Glasgow duo Saint Sappho have released their new single ‘Too Far Gone’.
Out now on Optimo Music Rocks, the track has been released as a double single alongside ‘Far Away’.
The new single was written, recorded and self-produced by the queer female duo Zoe Young and Tammy Dyson.
Speaking of the single, Saint Sappho said: “The song “Too Far Gone” pretty much wrote itself, it was one of those songs that just came out all at once. Afterwards, I thought, ‘wow, okay, this is something I probably need to process.’ The experience of loss and deterioration is profoundly impactful and expressing these emotions through music is the most therapeutic form of processing for me, at least. Adding the orchestral elements to this song was essential in the formation of the song and we ran the audio through a Roland Space Echo to get that really dramatic sound, then layered everything with lots of ebows and distant guitar sounds.”
‘Too Far Gone’ presents the band’s blend of atmospheric shoegaze, energetic grunge and 90s Britpop with a woozy twist through its enchanting layers. The single embraces the Britpop nostalgia creating an anthemic single that has a timeless appeal.
