SHEARS has released her new single ‘Afterthought’.
The track is the second single SHEARS has written and produced herself and is part of new EP she is releasing in October titled ‘Mind In Decline’.
The new single comes with the announcement that SHEARS will perform an intimate gig at Shout! on September 17th featuring a Q&A and a stripped-back set.
Speaking of the single, SHEARS said: “It’s about someone who can’t see the wood for the trees. Everybody else can see that there is something wrong going on in their life but that person doesn’t have the confidence to step back and see it for themselves. It can be really tough to recognise your self-worth, and so the message of the song is to trust your gut because it’s always right.”
Gut feelings exist for a reason. In any experience, you can choose to ignore them, but it will undoubtedly come back to prove exactly why they were there.
This synth-soaked single encapsulates a darker side to SHEARS sound yet manages to still shine a light on her incredible vocals – that are just as outstanding, if not better, in a live setting! Flowing with relatable lyrics, it’s another loveable track that left us wanting more.
