Track of the Day | Stay Lunar – Hello Friend

Stay Lunar have released their new single ‘Hello Friend’.

To celebrate the single release, the band will return to the live stage with shows in Bristol and Swindon.

Speaking of the single, frontman Harry Leith said: “‘Hello Friend’ is a song that dives into the struggles of anxiety and depression, but with a colourful and optimistic spin. The lyrics attempt to personify these struggles, by imagining they are an old friend that is looking out for me. The idea that anxiety is more of a friend than an enemy, helped me better understand myself, and how we all need others to get by – especially during a pandemic.”

Produced by Ady Hall & Lee McCarthy, the track was developed on their own at home before being delivered to the duo.

With an optimistic look, the shimmering single takes an alternative approach on the topic of anxiety as it explores the ideas of acceptance through its hazy summer sound. The jangly indie release is instantly engaging and delivers a refreshing route to the topic through their tinged dream pop.
