The Keystones have released their new single ‘Over It’.
‘Over It’ is about navigating attachment issues post-breakup and was inspired by their bassist Matt going through a rough breakup and moving out for the first time.
Speaking of the single, Matt said: “I was feeling lonely, so as soon as anyone would give me attention, I’d sort of latch on and seek a relationship right away. That wasn’t healthy, and it was getting in the way of my life, so I sort of stepped away from it and decided to just focus on myself, write music, and hang with my friends. The song reflects that idea – diving into a relationship too soon and realizing that it just doesn’t feel right.”
Stepping away from their usual alt-rock sound, ‘Over It’ sees the band explore new sonic elements including percussive bass, synth and auxiliary percussion creating a swagger-fuelled single that packs a punch.
