Track of the Day | The Riptide Movement – When The Sun Comes Up

The Riptide Movement have released their new single ‘When The Sun Comes Up’.

The track marks the band’s first new music of 2025 serving up a preview of their sixth studio album, set for release later this year.

Their new single release comes ahead of their summer UK dates including slots at Forest Fest, Doolin Arts Festival and Glastonbury.

Speaking of the single, the band said: “We’re really excited to release our new song. It’s a song we’re all incredibly proud of, it has so much energy in it. We gradually increased the tempo throughout the track to build this ‘runaway train’ type feeling to mirror that sense of time slipping away. Lyrically, it’s quite nostalgic — there’s a bittersweet monologue-like quality to it that intensifies as the song unfolds.”

‘When The Sun Comes Up’ channels the band’s trademark indie-rock sound with its moody, anthemic, and emotive sound, driven by guitar riffs and a mesmerising bassline.
