Tidal End have released their new single ‘By Design’.

The latest single from the Glasgow indie pop band sees the band return after a year-long hiatus with their new chapter of sound trading their indie rock roots for synth-driven pop.

Speaking of the single, the band said: “After a year long-break, ‘By Design’ felt like a big exhalation for us. Lyrically, we wanted to project the anxieties caused by today’s political climate – detachment, uncertainty and fear. Sonically though, we leaned into the vibrant optimism of ’80s pop by using synth-driven hooks and dramatic choruses. Like that era, we wanted to address crisis with colour, in that ‘By Design’ is our melodic protest to a very dissonant set of affairs.”

‘By Design’ is a pop injected synth soaked single that marks a reinvention in Tidal end’s sound, signalling their artistic evolution whilst remaining true to their their socially aware lyrical stylings.
