TRNSMT Festival | 5 Acts To Look Out For | Weekend One

With less than one week to until TRSNMT Festival’s first weekend kicks off, we’ve selected our top five acts from the King Tut’s stage across the weekend.

Running from June 29th to July 1st, the first weekend will see headliners The Stereophonics, Liam Gallagher and Arctic Monkeys take to the main stage alongside top acts including The Script, James Bay, Wolf Alice, Courteeners, Nothing But Thieves and Blossoms.

While the established names will take over the main stage, the King Tut’s Stage is the perfect spot to discover future festival favourites so we’ve rounded up our top five recommendations from across the weekend.

Pale Waves
It’s no surprise Pale Waves have continued to storm the music scene since reinventing with the release of their debut single ‘There’s A Honey’. Since then, it’s been a non-stop touring schedule for the band who’ve seen themselves jump from gig to festival, including headline sold out slots in the USA. This is bound to be the last summer the band spends on smaller stages and we reckon they’ll provide the perfect sun-kissed set for TRNSMT.

The Night Cafe
Packing out King Tut’s earlier this year, Liverpool’s The Night Cafe have firmly made their footprint on the UK’s indie scene. With an extremely impressive and catchy repertoire, each release continues to impress with their distinct and developed sound creating summer-ready singles. Perhaps still relatively unknown out with the scene, the band are bound to surprise and gain new fans on the day.

King No-One
King No-One will undoubtedly have the most flamboyant set of the weekend with their shimmering alternative mix. From rock-led singles to sultry indie tones, their set is guaranteed to be engaging from the get-go with an eclectic blend led by Zac Lount, a frontman made for festivals with his Mercury like moves.

The Magic Gang
You may not be familiar with the name, but if you spend your days listening to Spotify’s curated playlists we guarantee you’ll know their singles. With indie bops to get you grooving along, they’ll be the perfect match for the forecasted sunny weather and we reckon they’re another band who’ll gain a wave of new fans post-set with laidback singles primed with catchy choruses that’ll undoubtedly ensue singalongs.

ISLAND
With sultry indie anthems, you’re bound to fall in love with frontman Rollo Doherty’s raspy tone by the end of this set. Recently releasing their debut album ‘Feels Like Air’, you can expect captivating singles with mesmerising rhythms that’ll leave you grooving along into the night.
