Velazquez has released his new single ‘Disco Dancing!’.
This funk-infused disco blend follows his previous releases ‘Streets of Life’ and ‘Magnetism’ which received airplay on Seville’s football team official radio and praise from blogs globally.
To celebrate the single release, Velazquez shared with us 5 tracks that influenced the single.
Majestic, Boney M – Rasputin | Listen via Spotify
Main reference for the production of ‘Disco Dancing!’ It was shocking to realise how much they resonated with each other in so many levels, even though I didn’t know this version when I wrote my song.
Jungle – Keep Moving | Listen via Spotify
Jungle going a bit disco felt so fresh that it changed the perspective of my songwriting and gave me brand new ideas. This song became the main influence for the vocals and melodies of ‘Disco Dancing!’
Purple Disco Machine, Moss Kena, The Knocks – Fireworks (feat. Moss Kena & The Knocks) | Listen via Spotify
Every song produced by Purple Disco Machine influenced the beat, bass line, keys and many other elements of ‘Disco Dancing!’ If I had to choose one, it would be Fireworks.
Paco Versailles – Unwind | Listen via Spotify
The biggest challenge of producing Disco Dancing! was blending elements of Flamenco and Dance. Paco Versailles was the ray of light that unveiled ways to achieve it, becoming a core reference for my music.
SG Lewis – Chemicals | Listen via Spotify
I could not close this list without the very necessary influence of certain contemporary sounds and concepts by the hand of SG Lewis, which inspired certain sections of my song.
