Veronica Fusaro | 5 tracks that influenced ‘Venom’

Swiss singer-songwriter Veronica Fusaro has released her new track ‘Venom’.

Combining jazz-influenced synths with sub drops and hip-hop beats, the track flows with raw emotion led by Veronica’s captivating vocals.

Speaking of the track, Veronica explained the meaning behind the single as “the moment you realize that the person you handed your heart to is messing around with it. You always knew that this person wouldn’t do you any good, but you keep hoping they’ll change. Instead, the relationship kills you softly from the inside – just like venom.”

To celebrate the single release, Veronica shared five tracks that influenced ‘Venom’.

Amy Winehouse – Back to Black
I love everything about this song, the production, the lyrics, her voice – oh her voice! One of my favourite artists and biggest inspirations.

Rihanna – Higher
Rihanna is such an icon. I’m a big fan of her last album, there’s plenty of very strong songs and sounds that make the perfect bed for her voice to shine.

Adele – Turning Tables
Another very strong and unique voice, and of course a beautiful song! “Close enough to start a war…” – what an opening line!

Ella Fitzgerald – Black Coffee
We used to play this song in the jazz band in high school, and I’ve loved it ever since. This song got such a moody attitude, and the impeccable voice of Ella Fitzgerald fits perfectly to it.

Chet Faker – Talk is Cheap
When I think of this song I immediately catch myself humming the Rhodes melody played in the intro. Love that line!
