Hailing from Long Island NY, Dress2Impress have recently released their second single ‘Summer Nights!’, and we have reviewed the track along with their first single ‘Cant Get Enough’ below.
Summer Nights! opens with a ‘Hello Goodbye’ electronic feel at first, yet when launching into the song you realise the band adopt an approach much more alike bands such as All Time Low and We The Kings. This song’s chorus is very reminiscent of Head Automatica’s ‘Beating Heart Baby’ with the lyrics in the chorus. With this, you can pick up the lyrics with ease and sing along by the time the chorus comes around again, making the song very catchy in this sense. It is a strong song to showcase the bands instrumental talents and can easily be imagined transcending to a live set.
Can’t Get Enough launches straight into the main action with its catchy beat and contagious lyrics. It’s another track that with using repeating words in the chorus, cleverly allows anyone listening to pick up the lyrics within just one listen adding to the songs other catchy elements. It is another song that would easily transcend live, especially with breaks for audience interaction built-in.
Both songs waste no time launching straight into the action and are both indeed very catchy. You will find yourself unintentionally singing along before the songs come to an end, with both tracks contagious lyrics. Dress2Impress are alike a few American bands already on the music circuit, so they may find it a little hard to stand out from the ‘crowd’ of the already established pop-punk bands.
