English Flaws ; Demo Release

Anvie Kay

Upcoming London pop-band, English Flaws, have sent over their demos to showcase their talent.

A collection of three tracks fuelled with energy, synthesis and heart-raising drum beats, along with Swedish-House-Mafia-like vocals, these guys have proven their worth on their way to joining the big guns in the music industry.

Ordinary Man

This track gets your feet moving from the very first note. By the time the synth and the drums kick-in your whole body is willing to move along with the beat and the techno vibes. I like the simplicity of the lyrics due to the fact that it allows you to really feel the music. I feel like this song could be the iconic song in a film, you know, the song that plays when the protagonist’s voiceover is reflecting on their journey or has an epiphany about their life. It’s that energetic and vibrant that I can hear it on the soundtrack of something like Warm Bodies or The Perks of Being a Wallflower – something quirky.

The Hand That Pulls The Trigger

This is a little more playful than the first track. It’s more of a feel-good song, regardless of the title. It gets your heart pumping just before the chorus hits and pushes you to dance by the time it gets there. I can’t really make out the story of the song, but it is one I enjoy listening to.

I Want To Exist

This track is a little slower than the previous track, and also much darker in comparison to the previous tracks. It’s got a great drumbeat along with an excellent guitar riff. Another soundtrack-like song more suited for films like Drive or All Good Things.

Overall:

Great soundtrack for a drive or just dancing along with friends. It’s also great for chilling or blasting out in a club with drinks in your hand.
