One Direction; Take Me Home

The band may not have won the X Factor but whilst Matt Cardle is still making music and releasing a new album, it seems it is One Direction who are the real winners in the charts.

The album starts off with popular single ‘Live While we’re Young’ and follows with more of the same style of song.

‘Kiss You’ sounds like another hit for the band. Ed Sheeran’s track ‘Little Things’ slows down the pace and contains a very English lyric “you can’t go to bed without a cup of tea”. The track allows the band to showcase their vocal talent with ease.

‘Heart Attack’ sounds like a track that Katy Perry could have recorded, whilst ‘Rock Me’ takes its lead from Queen’s ‘We Will Rock You’ mingled with Joan Jett’s ‘I Love Rock n’ Roll’. You can almost see those hands in the air when they perform this track live.

McFly provided the band with track ‘I Would’ which shows how their writing has matured and that they are good songwriters, as well as a great pop band.

The album has a very British feel to it from the front cover, to the song writing credits, through to the band themselves. Fitting nicely with the album’s title remaining right at home.

There are at least 5 hit singles on the album and it will be a huge worldwide success especially with the band being a truly global act, perhaps even the biggest act to come from the X Factor show.

It sounds the same as their last album. No musical progression at all. Disappointing.

Perhaps it does sound like their first album but you know straight away who this is. If it ain’t broke why fix it? They are massive now just in Europe but in most countries in the world. They arrived at the right time – they plugged a hole in the market.
