UK based singer Charlee Drew releases his extremely contagious single ‘Sugar Rush’ on July 19th.
Charlee Drew manages to contain his accent throughout the song which is a bonus and is refreshing to hear as recently most people, particularly in these types of songs, try to disguise their accent or adapt it to fit the music scene rather than allowing their unique vocal stylings come through as Charlee allows.
From the introduction the stylings are quite Scouting For Girls sounding, yet with the vocals adding the difference and twist to the song. Charlee adds the same playful attitude to the song and listening once is enough to have you singing along.
The song is extremely contagious with lyrics that can be easily picked up, which are appropriate to undoubtedly a lot of teenage girls, who will now be falling over Mr Drew’s feet with an invitation to ‘spend the night with me’.
The way the song has been crafted is extremely skilful, due to the fact that the lyrics alone sound like your typical ‘soppy love song’ but with an added twist and an upbeat backing track, it turns what could have been another stereotyped song into something much more appealing.
Overall the song is extremely catchy and can easily be imagined coming on the radio for a good sing-a-long.
