He is not only a producer, but a singer and multi-instrumentalist.

Blending gentle acoustic sounds with heavy electronic beats, the man responsible for To Be Frank is Suffolk-based producer Frank Pescod.

With momentum gaining across the airwaves about the artist, we caught up with Frank to find out more about his current EP release ‘Nothing’.

Can you tell us more about the release?

The EP is called Nothing, I have chosen the 4 tracks on it to show off a variety of the different styles that I do.

Are there any particular tracks you enjoy the most?

I like all of them in their own ways. Depends on how I’m feeling as to which ones I would like to hear on that day.

Are there any tracks you think fans will like the most?

I think certain people are going to gravitate towards different tracks for sure, I think it’s probably the same for most artists. If people like them all then that’s great too.

Where did the idea for the duet with Hazel Tratt arise from?

I wrote the song and I knew I needed a female perspective on it and Hazel had been in touch about wanting to do something with me. I loved her voice and she was keen so I explained the idea and then we worked on the track and It all came together nicely.

Do you prefer producing or songwriting?

Well with To Be Frank it’s great because I get to do both. I love to write and produce together because you can take things from the writing process into the production arena, it’s exciting. That said I think it just depends on the project, I’m producing a few things at the moment and not writing and that’s great too.

You’ve released lyric pages on Facebook showing fans early stages of your songs, do you think its important to connect with fans via social media?

Yeah I think it’s great that you can connect directly with fans plus it’s always nice to see exactly where a song came from on paper.

Are there any particular Tweets you’ve received that stand out?

Yeah I remember seeing Radio 1 flash up on my Twitter saying warning brand new music from to be frank this is so pretty it might make you cry. Things went a bit crazy after that!

How does your diary look for the rest of the year?

Great! I’ve got a few festivals and other shows coming up. I’m playing Latitude and Wilderness which are two really nice festivals so looking forward to those.
