At just 16 years old Hatty Keane has already embarked on her journey into the music industry.
She won the nationwide ‘UK Open Mic’ competition earlier this year and since then has gone on to support the likes of N Dubz and Tinchy Stryder.
Not only this, Hatty has signed a development deal with BGM, who are the same development team behind Pixie Lott.
Despite all this going on in her music career at such a young age, we managed to catch up with Hatty herself to find out more!
How would you introduce your music to the readers of the site?
My music is a variety of an epic, powerful, hypnotic, edgy sound. With a bit of every genre!
You won the UK Open Mic competition earlier this year, did you ever feel that this would be the start of your career?
Well, in some ways yes, I entered to gain experience and see what I could do.
Did you ever expect your music career to start at this young age?
I dreamed of it! I am very lucky and I put a lot of work in to make sure my dream becomes reality.
Who would you cite as your musical inspirations?
Blondie, Beyonce, Annie Lennox, Mariah Carey, Amy Winehouse, Aretha Franklin
Where else do you gain inspiration from?
Seeing other artists live really inspires me, it’s like you get to be a part of their world, it’s magic!
In regards to your music videos, how much say do you have in the process?
We make a mood board as a team and I share my ideas from the song, and it goes from there really!
What would be your dream tour line-up to be a part of?
Nicki Minaj, Jessie J, BEP, Gaga, Ed sheeran! Rihanna.
Which artist in today’s music scene would you most alike yourself to?
Jessie J/Pink/Rihanna
What do you want to have achieved as an artist by the end of 2011?
To have made a big entrance into the music industry, and be on my way to big things!
