The Rezner have released their new single ‘Wouldn’t You Like To Know’.
Kickstarting the band’s 2020, the latest single from the South-West four-piece is out now via Jam X Recordings.
Encapsulating the band’s explosive performances in studio format, the single doesn’t hold back with a brashy punk edge.
Speaking of the single, lead singer Sam Stone added: “Inspired by the buzz of the crowd at recent shows, ‘Wouldn’t You Like To Know’ puts you straight into the mind of a character who is preparing to sack the day off work. He has lost the plot with everyone who surrounds him at his day to day job and is preparing arguments to have in his own head before they have even happened, which is driving him to the brink of insanity. He often wonders if they will even notice when he doesn’t turn up to work. Wouldn’t they like to know? Where he’s been? Where he’s hiding? Where he’s going to be for the day? This is something that the younger generation of workers face on a day to day basis, and we’ve had enough.”
To celebrate the single release, The Rezner shared with us 5 tracks that influenced their latest single.
Sports Team – Fishing | Listen via Spotify
The hecticness of the track with the big chorus was a big influence of how our new single is high-octane from start to finish.
The Amazons – In My Mind | Listen via Spotify
The heavy riffs and stops of this one we loved, and have taken influence into our writing.
Hobo Johnson – Peach Scone | Listen via Spotify
The deliverance of the lyrics in this one is really cool, which helped us shape the second verse of ‘Wouldn’t You Like To Know’ with the spoken word part of the song.
Fidlar – By Myself | Listen via Spotify
We were all pretty mad about this tune at the time of writing ‘WYLTK’, it’s a fun track with big hooks, which is what we sort of aim to be in a lot of our writing.
Slowthai – Doorman | Listen via Spotify
This song is very bass driven and pretty none-stop, similar to how we wanted ‘WYLTK’ to go when recording it, just with a more guitar band twist.
