Track of the Day | Ezra Collective – Jubilee Feeling

Ezra Collective have released their new single ‘Jubilee Feeling’.

The track is the third single taken from the band’s forthcoming fourth album ‘Here Because of Hope’ due out on September 11th via Partisan Records.

Speaking of the single, frontman Femi Koleoso said: “The word Jubilee is very precious to me. Not just because it’s the name of the church I grew up at, and the name of the youth group I work at, but its actual meaning — ‘the year of Jubilee, a year when everyone’s debts are settled, all prisoners set free’ — is almost like an equalisation day, a celebration to say we can start all over again.

“I often think about what that feeling of Jubilee must be like; being someone who maybe doesn’t even deserve to be set free, to have your debts wiped, but it happens anyway. I think that is such a picture of euphoric joy.”

‘Jubilee Feeling’ is a joyous release from the moment you press play. Infectious from the outset, it’s impossible not to groove along as the band blend jazz, funky house and soul into a vibrant sound that feels like a celebration set to music. It’s the kind of track that will have you grooving along before you even realise it.
