Parliamo have released their new punk-infused single ‘Youth’.
With previous support from 6 Music, BBC Radio Scotland and Radio X, Perth’s Parliamo are grabbing attention with their self-proclaimed ‘underground pop’.
Speaking of the single, singer Jack Dailly said: “’Youth’ is a song about losing your virginity, which never turns out to be the idyllic, Hollywood affair that it’s often made out to be. In this case, it’s a nerve-soaked, drunken haze for both parties, which takes place in the highly sought-after setting of someone’s little brother’s bedroom during a party in a council house on a scheme in the north of Perth.”
With a punk-tinged rock ‘n’ roll blend, Parliamo throw it back to the Britpop days with an instantly addictive sound. Thrashing guitars build up anticipation to the energetic chorus as, alike the song’s lyrical focus, it’s a lustful release that leaves you wanting more.
