Somebody’s Child has released his new single ‘Broken Record’.
The single release comes alongside his announcement he’s signed to Frenchkiss Record and his headline UK 2023 tour dates.
Speaking of the single, Someboy’s Child said: “‘Broken Record is the first step in our next chapter. It’s unapologetically loud but what makes the song for me it’s the intimacy throughout, and the underlying story which is purposefully cryptic. It’s important that I don’t give too much away about my music, as it continues to inspire me figuring out what some of it means sometimes years after its release. It’s definitely rooted in reality, but there’s more to it. What I will say is that it harbors resentment and drive simultaneously, which is indicative of what’s to come from us.”
Blending his well-loved indie pop with thrashing guitars leading to a euphoric chorus, the single won us over instantly, with its clever juxtaposition in both lyrics and sound.
Catch Somebody’s Child live at King Tut’s on February 19th 2023 – tickets available here!
