Underher has released his new EP ‘False Promises’.
The three-track EP from the Berlin-based producer is one of the first releases as a solo act of Khaled Bess, with collaborative vocals from Neev, Liz Cass and October’s Child.
Portraying slow, sensual tales of heartbreak, the EP is the debut release on Solomun’s 2DIY4 imprint , following remixes for artists including Billie Eilish, Books Shade, Moby and Ben Klock.
To celebrate the EP release, Khaled shared with us 5 tracks that influenced ‘False Promises’.
Rhye – Waste (Ry X Remix) | Listen via Spotify
Always been a fan of Ry X, but never heard a remix from him until this one, and it’s a gem! This song represents exactly my sound and the direction I’ve been going this last year. A mixture of sensuality, darkness and melancholia.
SOHN – Hue | Listen via Spotify
I had the chance to tour with SOHN, and during that tour got so inspired by his live show. This track every time he would play it, everybody would lose their mind, sounds even better live. A true artist and an inspiring person to be around.
6Lack – Loaded Gun | Listen via Spotify
I came from a hip-hop background and I think that’s what made my sound and my love for sensuality in music (R&B). From The Weeknd (back in the day) to 6Lack, all these rappers bringing the sensual melancholia vibes are an inspiration to me.
HRRSN – Time | Listen via Spotify
A track from my friend HRRSN – just a funky and awesome groove, that gives me a smile and puts me in the mood to share happiness.
James Blake – Mile High (feat. Travis Scott & Metro Boomin) | Listen via Spotify
Always been a fan of James Blake– a great and humble producer that I look up to. When James decided to add rapper Travis Scott to this tune, at my first listen I was in love. One of the tracks I played the most during my dates, simple and so powerful and shows the mixture of genres that I’m trying to achieve also with my sounds. No barriers.
