Blue Stragglers | 5 tracks that influenced ‘All Mine (Sometimes)’

Blue Stragglers have released their new single ‘All Mine (Sometimes)’.

Speaking of the single, frontman Lee Martin said: “Lyrically it’s whatever you want it to be without sounding vague, living in the moment, not back, not forward but now is a hard thing to do. We are constantly asked for five-year plans and why you did this and are you thinking about that, the answer should always be no. The best moments are the ones you are in, it’s only afterwards that you get the magnifying glass out. We tried to write a song that if you invest in, will only get better.”

To celebrate their single release, Blue Stragglers shared with us 5 tracks that influenced ‘All Mine (Sometimes)’.

Supergrass – Kiss of Life | Listen via Spotify
Andy: Always loved the way the guitar weaves in and out of the percussion, gloriously put together. Danny Goffey’s playing puts a smile on everyone’s face without them even knowing it

Beck – Black Tambourine | Listen via Spotify
Ali: A festival favourite live, always gets everyone dancing in a field, with one of Beck’s best basslines.

Hannah Lou Clark | Silent Type | Listen via Spotify
Lee: I love a song that you think has given you the ace early on, but just when you are sitting comfortably they lay down a royal flush, hard to find a cooler song that does that than this.

Raconteurs – Hands | Listen via Spotify
Ali: A barnstorming outro, brings back great memories of seeing them in the Radio 1 tent at Reading 2006!

Mark Lanegan – Leviathan | Listen via Spotify
Lee: Anything Lanegan touches turns to gold, and the outro of this is so good you forget how good the rest of the song is too. That’s the aim of the game.
