Polly Money joined the DORK Hype List Tour as it landed in Glasgow’s McChuills.
With an impressive line-up of new talent, Polly joined the line-up ahead of the release of her new EP ‘T-Shirt Nothing Else’ due out on March 20th via CoolOnline.
Our interest in her music began during her time touring with The 1975 as the band shone a spotlight on her etheral vocals in moments throughout their ‘At Their Very Best’ tour. As her name lit up on the large screens night after night, curiosity grew and we became eager to discover the artist behind the name.
Polly Money, we were far from disappointed.
Polly’s music delivers a dose of indie alt-pop bliss with a euphoric edge. Her angelic vocals, even more mesmerising live than recorded, enchantingly captivate the room from the first moment the microphone touches her lips.
From ‘Milk & Honey’ with its glistening production to ‘water’ which flows with a melodic groove to ‘Astrid’s sensual funk pop sound, Polly proves herself a versatile artist, effortlessly weaving her way through her intricate set.
Openly embracing and expressing her sexuality, Polly’s carefully crafted lyrics draw you in, making every poignant word penned resonate. As her tracks delve into navigating love, longing and self discovery as a queer woman, the idyllic melodies soundtrack emotionally charged lyrics including set highlight ‘Anything’.
As the crowd sang her lyrics back to her, Polly’s smile lit up the room. Despite the crowd now eagerly gathered at the front of the stage, her intricate vocal style creates an intimate atmosphere, making it feel as though it’s just you and her in the room.
This intricacy to her songwriting and live performance allows her to navigate euphoria to heartache through catchy alt pop songs that captivate you while keeping you dancing.
