Track of the Day | Saytr Play – Second Hand Emotion

Saytr Play have released their new single ‘Second Hand Emotion’.

Out now via Lovers Music, the single was produced by long-time collaborator Joe Cross.

Speaking of the single, frontman Fred Farrell explained: “The image explores the vulnerability I feel in today’s society and this idea that we have a voice. In my opinion we don’t have a voice or at least a voice that will be heard. The abstract nature of the image provokes thought. Whatever that may be is irrelevant because it’s your own unique thought! Your second-hand emotion.”

‘Second Hand Emotion’ may feel familiar on first listen, as it hails back to the old school 80’s indie rock formula. However, Saytr Play don’t mess around.

The three-minute track isn’t simply an indie rock gem as they introduce a blend of sounds transforming the track into a funky bass-powered dancefloor filler. The band has a knack for taking powerful lyrics and blending them into hit worthy songs, without seeming overbearing or preachy, ‘Second Hand Emotion’ is no different as it’ll have you belting out lyrics about global affairs with your dancing shoes on.
